Gifts Collected by DPS Penn for Caring Tree recipients.
DECEMBER 2010 -- DPS Penn paired up with the United Way of Washington County to provide presents for local residents this Christmas. In all, DPS Penn sponsored over 20 local people for Christmas.
The United Way of Washington County has operated the Caring Tree program for more than 20 years to make the holidays a more joyous time for the less fortunate in our community. Last year, Caring Tree provided over 3,500 gifts to children, seniors and disabled adults in our area.
The program is operated primarily by volunteers and relies upon businesses to serve as Caring Tree Sites. Again this year United Way of Washington County and Community Action Southwest have teamed up to operate Caring Tree together, so that the agencies can spread their resources further.
