Bennett Wood, President of DPS Penn presented the $25,000 check to Arthur Scully, Vice President of Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation.
December 6, 2011 — As the inaugural Pink Gas Pledge came to a close in the waning months of 2010, the joy felt by the staff at DPS Penn had been accompanied by a lingering question — with the lofty leasing and fundraising goals of the campaign behind them, would the following year's campaign live up to the incredible precedent set in its first year?
As 2011's campaign surged in September and October, this question finally had its answer — absolutely.
DPS Penn, a Pennsylvania-based, privately held oil and gas leasing company, pledged to donate $1.00 to Magee Womens Research Institute (Magee) for each acre of land it leased in the months of September and October. This year's campaign culminated in the donation of $25,000 to Magee at a December 5 luncheon at Andora Restaurant South.
Representatives from DPS Penn and Magee met at the luncheon to celebrate the success of the year's event and discuss how to make the campaign an even greater success in the years to come.
Members of the DPS Penn team noted that "this campaign would not be possible without the support of landowners and people of the communities" and that "ultimately, the success of this campaign depends on them, and the great response to this year's campaign shows what great things can happen when we all work together."
