JANUARY 2011 — On Dec. 12, the Italian-American Cultural Club hosted its annual Christmas dinner at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville. The evening was filled with food, drinks and an excellent array of entertainment by children and grandchildren of the IACC members. It was really an evening of fun, food and fellowship.

The IACC Christmas dinner had three major sponsors for the evening. Our largest sponsor was DPS Penn, a land leasing agency that has recently begun operations with the Marcellus shale discovery. DPS Penn donated a generous $2,000 to sponsor our event. Our second largest donation of $1,000 came from APEX Environmental, a company truly committed to giving back to their community.

While APEX is located in Bergholz, it understands the importance of supporting organizations throughout the county, especially when their donation will be directly used to sponsor college scholarships, because APEX truly values higher education. Our final sponsor, Wal-Mart Distribution Center No. 7017 in Wintersville, contributed $500. Since arriving in our community, the distribution center has dramatically impacted our community by adding hundreds of new long-term careers and has donated thousands of dollars to numerous local charities.

We are extremely grateful to DPS Penn, APEX Environmental and Wal-Mart Distribution Center No. 7017, and we are proud to have these companies in our community.
