AUGUST 2010 -- Scorecards aside, the First Annual Pink Gas Pledge Golf Outing resulted in a win for everyone involved. The outing, which included a raffle and silent auction, raised $5,365 to support breast cancer research at Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI).
The Golf Outing was the year's inaugural event for the 2011 Pink Gas Pledge, an annual initiative to raise money for MWRI and its ongoing efforts to fight breast cancer. The Pink Gas Pledge, now in its second year, was started by DPS Penn, a Pennsylvania-based, privately held oil and gas company focused on the development of natural resources in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.
In 2010, DPS Penn donated over $25,000 to MWRI through the Pink Gas Pledge. DPS Penn donates $1 to Magee for each acre of land it leases during the month of October.
"We are extremely proud of the success of last year's Pink Gas Pledge," said DPS Penn. "With more fund-raising and community events planned for 2011, we're hoping to exceed the donation amount that we raised last year."
