ANGEL OF THE HOUR

DECEMBER 2010 -- On Thursday and Friday, Dec. 9 – 10, some of Pittsburgh's most popular radio personalities broadcasted live from their studios to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the 16th Annual Y108 Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon.

Over the years, Y108′s loyal listeners have pledged more than $2.5 million dollars to help St Jude continue its life-saving work. This year was no exception, with the event raising $107,000 to send St Jude's to help with research and to support local families and patients.

DPS Penn was an on-air "Angel of the Hour" sponsor of this 16-year holiday tradition, and would like to thank everyone who donated their time, money and energy to make this year's event a success!

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fund-raising organization.
